Areas of Focus

"The LMA provide a great platform through the course to learn and develop the skills required to be a modern day manager. It's insightful and also a fantastic opportunity to meet some likeminded and talented people aspiring to progress in the game."

Areas of focus.

Leadership
Members have the opportunity to actively engage in learning focused on the development of leadership and understanding the requirements of leaders in high performing environments.

These events develop participants' knowledge and skill on how to lead with purpose, understand effective leadership communication and supporting individuals to recognise what their leadership style is.

Career Development
Individuals can unlock their potential and thrive at the elite levels of sport.

These events focus on preparing for your next role, including getting longlisted and shortlisted, understanding candidate pools, and the key employability skills required to excel during recruitment processes.

Technical
The LCA's technical education programme provides the opportunity for members to visit a training ground or stadium venue.

These events often include on-pitch live coaching demonstrations from individuals working with elite players and post-session discussions with technical staff to contextualise and rationalise the practical session.

Lma DIPLOMA IN
FOOTBALL MANAGEMENT

The LMA Diploma in Football Management was launched at Warwick Business School in 2002. Now delivered in partnership with the University of Liverpool and the PFA, with 277 graduates to date, the course is still true to its original aim of providing vocationally relevant education, equipping managers and coaches with a university-accredited qualification and the skills to address the challenges and realities of football management.

The Diploma is designed for practitioners considering or already in professional club management. It provides a bridge between the game’s formal technical qualifications and the leadership and management realities of working in the professional game. Each individual is encouraged to build a set of core leadership and management skills that will support them throughout their career in the game.
