We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of LCA member John Vaughan.

John had worked as Sheffield United’s head of academy goalkeeping since 2022, having previously served as a goalkeeping coach at clubs including Birmingham City, Bradford City and Huddersfield Town.

During his playing career, John made 231 appearances in all competitions for Cambridge United between 1988 and 1993. He also made 66 league appearances for Preston North End, where he was part of the side that won the Third Division title in 1995/96.

Our thoughts are with John’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
